Dual runners line up in Listed races tomorrow
Big weekend ahead for the Viva Racing team with two runners in Listed races in two states tomorrow.
Subterranean warming up for Group 1 campaign
Classy colt Subterranean lines up in the Ken Russell Classic over 1200 meters at the Gold Coast (Listed, $150,000). Leading hoop Nash Rawiller takes the ride with Subterranean expected to get through the soft ground without a drama. Blinkers go on for the first time and we are confident he is a strong top 3 proposition in a race with plenty of depth.
Subterranean will no doubt improve after tomorrow when he steps out to 1400 meters and beyond, however to be competitive in Group 1 races over the winter carnival a strong showing is a must in the Ken Russell Classic.
The Sires Produce (1400 meters) and J.J Atkins (1600 meters) are Group 1 million dollar races on his radar in late May and early June.
Snitz aiming for back to back Takeover Target wins
Stable favourite Snitz lines up in the Takeover Target Stakes at Gosford over 1200 meters (Listed, $150,000). He is the defending champ and we are looking forward to seeing the old boy recapture his form with Tim Clark back in the saddle. Snitz is on the short back up after running last week and having no luck in running.
His recover has been excellent and he lines up in a Listed race with little depth. Tomorrow we will see him freerolling out in front and be really hard to get past in the straight. If he is anywhere near his best he will be extremely hard to beat.
Good luck to all connections.
